The Family Court of Australia

           
          In my opinion - because the whole system is answerable to no one, this institution runs wild. It is totally protected from all scrutiny because of a clause in the act - Section 121- that allows details of court proceedings and processes to be kept secret. This, it is claimed, is to protect families. It in fact protects the blatantly sexist, family destroying actions and atrocities committed by many of the judges that hold the power to destroy the very fabric of our society - the family. It is an organisation run by lawyers and promoted lawyers, for the benefit of lawyers.

          Therefore, I cannot tell my story of how this institution blackmailed me out of my parenthood - the one thing in my life that I know I did well and was proud of. I cannot tell about the contents of a sworn affidavit that took a lawyer several hours to complete that was handed up to a judge, breezed over by him for less than 3 minutes and with the declaration that their is nothing proven within it, was dismissed as insignificant when seeking an interim shared custody situation.

          It seems that the whole system has become corrupted - with every new government in this country too gutless to take a stand and call for a Royal Commission into this court and the jesters that prance throughout them.

          Even the Chief Justice of this Court, Alastair Nicholson is on record as referring to men fighting for some equality in this system as "sinister". This is a national disgrace that this man is still in control. He refers to men, nearly all of whom ask for joint custody of a child after a relationship breakdown, as wanting power and control over the woman. Yet women, nearly all of whom want sole custody in the same circumstances, are supposedly totally powerless.

          A father has absolutely no power over anything, and is controlled by authority and the mother through his love of his children. He must bow to every demand - or lose his kids completely. This often happen anyway down the track once he is legally stripped from their lives and is viewed as nothing more than an extra source of money, or if he is really lucky, as a free babysitter, for the new age welfare recipients that use and abuse a system that allows them their "space" and "independence" at the cost of their own children losing a father.

          This is our society now, this is our kid's future, this is what is corrupting our children. They now see that greed, selfishness and self interest is not only acceptable behaviour, but it is rewarded almost always through our courts. They now see that society expects and demands that fathers bond with their children as never before and are then torn from those kids whenever mother chooses to cash in her chips for even the most spurious of reasons. And we condemn society of over a generation ago for the stealing of aboriginal children while letting those same sort of atrocities happen today - what a sick joke Australian society has become!!!
